President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Nigeria after spending about four weeks in Europe on what the Presidency described as a working vacation.

The President arrived in Lagos on Tuesday evening, September 29, 2026, aboard Nigerian Air Force One. His aircraft landed at the presidential wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 6:22 p.m.

Tinubu was received at the airport by several senior government officials, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, Deputy Senate President Jubril Barau and Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

The President departed Nigeria on August 30 and initially travelled to London before proceeding to Paris, France. During his stay in France, he held engagements with French President Emmanuel Macron and business leaders, including Vincent Bolloré.

The Presidency later extended his working vacation by a few days before his eventual return on Tuesday.

Tinubu is expected to remain in Lagos for activities marking Nigeria’s 66th Independence Anniversary on October 1, as well as other official engagements, before eventually returning to Abuja.
