The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has called on political stakeholders in Rivers State to unite behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the declaration on Monday, October 19, 2026, during a meeting with supporters of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and youth leaders in Port Harcourt.

Addressing the gathering, the former Rivers State governor said his priority was to secure strong support for Tinubu in the state.

“All I want to hear in this state is Tinubu and nothing but Tinubu,” Wike declared.

He argued that Rivers State could benefit from more federal appointments, infrastructure development and greater political influence if it ranked among the three states recording the highest number of votes for the President.

The FCT Minister also urged political supporters to put past disagreements aside, reconcile with one another and work together ahead of the 2027 elections.

Wike said his political efforts were aimed at ensuring that Rivers State remained influential in national affairs and that its people continued to benefit from opportunities at the federal level.

The meeting comes amid ongoing political realignments in Rivers State as political leaders and groups prepare for the 2027 general elections.
