Nigeria’s allocation for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage has increased to 60,000 pilgrims following the addition of 10,000 slots approved by the Saudi Arabian authorities.

The additional allocation increases Nigeria’s opportunity to send more pilgrims to Saudi Arabia for the annual Islamic pilgrimage.

The development is expected to provide more Nigerian Muslims with the opportunity to perform Hajj in 2027, following the increase in the number of available slots.

Authorities responsible for the Nigerian Hajj arrangements are expected to continue preparations for the pilgrimage, including registration, transportation, accommodation and other necessary arrangements for the intending pilgrims.

The increase in allocation comes as Nigeria and Saudi Arabian authorities continue discussions and preparations ahead of the 2027 Hajj season.
